Abstract |
Leo Haas (painter and cartoonist) talks about his life. 1937: imprisonment and forced labour in Ostrau, prisoner in the Theresienstadt ghetto (Ältertenrat). Interrogation by Eichmann. The committal to the "small fortress." Prisoner in Auschwitz under the command of Josef Mengele. In the Sachsenhausen concentration camp: command to counterfeit. 1945: evacuation from Mauthausen and Redlzipf. later, move to East Germany. Haas made drawings which were later of use in criminal trials (the Eichmann trial). |
