Abstract |
Jennifer Whittredge is an English woman accompanying her friend Mrs. Bromley on a trip to Warsaw. There she meets Polish Count Stephen Orvid who falls in love with her. Despite the objections of his family, the two marry and settle on Orvid's family farm. But war soon comes and the farm is burned to the ground by the Nazis. Orvid and Jennifer Whittredge know that Poland will one day rise again, however. |
