Abstract

The Film depicts the role of Histadrut in Israel. It opens with authentic scenes of the reburial of Theodor Herzl in Jerusalem. The cameraman, who appears as central character in the film, shoots highlights of Histadrut activities, focusing attention on services to immigrants, at reception camps and scenes dealing with medical care, cultural activities, vocational training, etc. Beyond the camp we witness the renewed life of freedom in a productive and cooperative society. Cooperative factories, stores, trade schools, farms and fishing villages exemplify the slogan of "initiative plus teamwork" that animates the Histadrut. Prime Minister David Ben Gurion issues a call for pioneering.
