Synopsis

Im Auftrag der “Tovarzystwo Ochrony Zdrowia” (TOZ), die vom American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee unterstützte Gesellschaft für die Gesundheitspflege unter den Juden. Ein Dokumentarfilm, der die umfassenden Programme der TOZ zur Gesundheitspflege in ganz Polen in den Jahren vor der deutschen Okkupation zeigt. Der Film beginnt mit dem Besuch einer TOZ-Schwester in einer ärmlichen Behausung in Warschau. Die Kinder spielen im Dreck, ein Kind ist krank, aber ohne jede Fürsorge. Nach einem Gespräch mit der Mutter werden die Kinder in eine Tagesstätte gebracht, wo sie spielen, essen, Mittagschlaf halten etc. Mehr als die Hälfte der Films ist der medizinischen Fürsorge für Kinder gewidmet, außerdem enthält er Aufnahmen der TOZ-Schwesternschule für jüdische Krankenschwestern.
