Synopsis

Der Film zeigt die Rolle der Histadrut in Israel. Er beginnt mit Dokumentaraufnahmen von der Wiederbeisetzung Theodor Herzls in Jerusalem. Der Kameramann, in diesem Film eine der Hauptfiguren, zeigt wesentliche Aktivitäten der Histadrut: die Hilfe für Immigranten in den Aufnahmelagern, bei der medizinischen Versorgung, außerdem Kulturveranstaltungen, Berufsausbildung usw. Jenseits der Lager beobachten wir das neue, freie Leben in einer produktiven und kooperativen Gesellschaft. Genossenschaften, Läden, Berufsschulen, Farm- und Fischfang-Kooperativen illustrieren den Histadrut-Slogan von „Initiative plus Teamwork“. Premierminister David Ben-Gurion appelliert an den Pioniergeist seiner Landsleute.
